Now, as some of you may know..
I lost my job because of an upcoming trip my mother booked 3 days before I got my job. Her "excuse" was that she didn't know I was getting employed, when she clearly knew I was doing interviews day after day, to get what? A job.
After I got laid off for basically following her daily insistence over the 3 days of work there, letting my (now former) boss know about this trip, she said she's fine with blowing $1400 on a trip I cannot make. C'mon now, you won't even loan me that money to buy a cheap daily driver, so I didn't need to use the family car to get to work, and you prefer to blow it on a trip a family member couldn't make if employed? ugh.
I don't understand my mother's logic at times. My grandmother was in disbelief when I told her over the phone, when she asked about "work". My mom's been repeating "why I got fired" various times a day since Thursday, and poking through my work manual and reading it out loud.
I also had an awesome commute, traffic wasn't bad, and I saw a clean, unmolested 300ZX every day, and a few more awesome cars parked in the same area.
I blew it.

Shit man, Really sorry. It sucks, and sounded like a great gig.

That sucks man, we can post a daily 300ZX if you want. You will get a new job and try to enjoy the trip!

It honestly sounds like the first thing you should do once you get another job is move out.

Even if I was only attending the lot, and cleaning cars, it was awesome. my former boss is super chill and would hire me again. I lost it due to my family getting in the way.

Yeah, I'm seriously considering that.

I got a few hooks already, Hopefully another dealership, or a Jiffylube. Those are everywhere.

Moving out greatly improved my relationship with my family, so it might work for you. Best of luck!

Sorry about that aspect also, hope it resolves itself!

That sucks. It's the kind of thing you tell your boss at the earliest possible moment (I just found out about ....., would it be a problem for me to go?) and based on his response you either skip it and work or go with the boss's blessing (much better option).
Was the trip at least worth going?

It was for my grandmother's 80th birthday. She lives in Brazil.

Oh, hmmm. Tough call. Was it just the last minute notice that screwed you or that you got to go at all? As an occasional employer, it sucks when you finally hire someone just to find out they aren't going to be there for a while.
You should sit down and try to talk through it with your mom - if nothing else tell her you'd like her to drop the recurring reminders...

I told my boss I was fine working, and prefer it. I was only told by my mother once I started the job, and that's where the "you gotta tell him" thing came from, and now she blames it all on me, and calls me a failure. My father, who is an employer, sided with me, surprisingly.
She just won't leave me alone, I can take care of myself, she can back off.

Dealerships are good to get into, they seem to really value loyalty.

Do you want to move out?

I'm willing to do so, but I need an income for it.

I know, at least I have no severed relationships with my former employer.
